A HISTORY OF NEVER
STANDING STILL
Since 1870, when John Blundstone made his first boots for Hobart’s streets and paddocks, we’ve kept moving – without losing sight of what matters.
From the Great Depression to grunge, factory floors to festival fields, for over 155 years our boots have been worn by dam-builders, artists, farmers and kids alike. We’re still family-owned, still Tasmanian, and it’s still the people who wear our boots who drive us forward.
SHAPED BY TASMANIA
Tasmania is tough, beautiful country. Wild seas crash into towering cliffs. Forests that have stood for thousands of years. Highlands cut by wind and snow; the Southern Ocean on our doorstep.
Our island builds resilience into everything it touches – and every Blundstone boot carries that same spirit.
The iconic boot
For over 155 years, we’ve made boots that stand the test of time. Our commitment to quality is embedded in every step of our process—from material selection to final inspection. We proudly partner with trusted suppliers who share our vision, and retain traditional footwear-making skills within our business.
We’re certified to ISO 9001:2015, which means every detail is built around a single goal: to make some of the best boots in the world. Our materials, designs, silhouettes, techniques, stitching, and manufacturing methods are part of our DNA. We lead all product design and work closely with our suppliers to develop and select materials that meet our exacting standards. This collaborative approach ensures every pair of Blundstones reflects our legacy of craftsmanship and innovation.
ENDURING
Over 25 million pairs on, the iconic double-tabbed Chelsea style hasn’t changed. We haven’t reinvented them and people live in them.
COMFORTABLE
Blundstones are made to wear all day long. This comes through soft linings, quality elements and XRD® shock absorption tech.
TOUGH
Our brand origins are from work and safety. And we still live there. This detail-oriented approach flows through all our products.

A long history of 155 years speaks for itself. We’ve got a working class heart and a get-your-hands-dirty approach which has sustained us through the years.

2025: Filson X Blundstone
Filson and Blundstone have shaped their identities through the unique characteristics of their natural environments. This exclusive collaboration features premium water-resistant waxed suede, debuts Blundstone’s imposing new sole design, co-branded detailing, and Filson Blaze orange accents.
2024/25: CDGH X Blundstone
Released as part of CDGH’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection, the limited-edition silhouette blended COMME des GARÇONS HOMME’s timeless, avant-garde aesthetic with Blundstone’s all-terrain durability and comfort.
In 2025, the partnership evolved with a second release — a bold, limited-edition All-Terrain boot. This drop fused the rugged DNA of Blundstone’s iconic silhouette with the understated authenticity of the HOMME brand.
2024/25: DESIGN YOUR OWN BLUNDSTONE BOOTS
In 2024, Blundstone ran the Well Worn Global brand campaign, offering eight people globally to design their boot using their city or town as inspiration. The result was eight unique designs handcrafted by Blundstone lovers across the globe.
2025: TASMANIA DEVILS FOOTBALL CLUB BOOTS
Blundstone boots are synonymous with Tasmanian football. Blundstone even crafted playing boots for Tasmanian football icon Darryl Baldock. The TFC Blundstone boots feature several of the highly distinguishable Tasmania Devils elements, including green soles, the fur pattern of the Devils on the boot elastic, an embossed map of Tasmania and the Devils’ head on the children’s boots.
GROWING AND POWERFUL GLOBAL AUDIENCE

4. Our shoe boxes are made from 100% recycled material, are 100% recyclable, and only use vegetable-based inks and natural adhesives.
PRODUCT
1. We source 95% of our leather from Leather Working Group certified leather manufacturers.
2. We’ve conducted life cycle assessments on two of our core styles to help us identify how we can achieve lower impact. And we are looking to continue this work with other key Blundstone products.
3. We’ve redesigned our flagship heavy-duty safety boot range to incorporate select components using 30 to 100% recycled content and innovative technology.
